La Cantina Tequila & Botanas Bar is located in DTLA, Little Tokyo, at the former historic Atomic Café. Whether it’s lounging indoors in a more intimate setting, or star-gazing in our back patio while drinking and eating, La Cantina has it all. We take pride in our Regional Mexican cuisine and coming soon we will be featuring the new botanas menu comprised of lobster tacos, seafood, flying fish, cochinita pibil, chicharron tacos, tostadas, ceviches, flautas, sopes and taquitos!

Starting on August 25th, 2011, La Cantina will host a Two-Hour Tequila Tasting, Mixology, and Cooking Class. In this class, Mixologist and spirits expert David Fleisher (DTLA’s Seven Grand) serves you a flight of three delicious tequilas, walks you through the history and uses of this potent elixir, and teaches you to recreate the La Cantina Margarita. Students also learn to prepare a tequila based marinade to make an appetizing botanas. Up to 25 students can participate at once, after which more snacks are served as class transitions into a full-blown happy hour. Hey, what did we say? Tequila just makes everything better.

David Fleisher began his hospitality career in Seattle and further developed his bartending skills in New York and Los Angeles (where he currently resides). As a bartender and spirits authority, David is a beer, wine, and spirits service consultant with 14 years of professional hospitality experience. From 2008-2010, he managed one of Food & Wine's "Top 50 Bars in America" in DTLA and currently serves as a Food & Beverage manager at a Beverly Hills luxury boutique hotel.


La Cantina will be featuring a tequila mixing and botanas cooking class starting August 25th and ending December 16th. We will schedule classes during a 4 month period and will be held primarily from Sunday through Thursday evenings. Email for more information.

  2. Enter your voucher number and first name initial to access the online reservation sign up sheet. If you purchased through paypal, please be patient. One will be emailed to you.
  3. Print out voucher or present it via mobile phone when you arrive to class.
